Confusion Hit UCC Over Colleges Of Education Academic Calendar And Reopening Date

Students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have found themselves currently in a state of confusion, not knowing when exactly the next academic year begins.

While most of the students are done with their end-of-semester examinations, other students will complete theirs on Friday, October 1.

Per the academic calendar for the 2020/2022 academic year, the vacation for the second semester commences on October 2, 2021 and ends on October 29.

The freshmen and women, per the current academic calendar, are supposed to report to school in October before the continuing students report but considering the fact that they are still writing the West Aftican Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), It is impossible for this year’s candidates to enrol in October.

So it has become difficult to determine whether the University will release a new academic calendar or will go by the current one.

Students, therefore, call on the university’s management to clarify this issue.

“Currently, we don’t know whether school will resume in October or January. We are confused. We look forward to a clarification from the university’s administration,” said a student.
