Gospel artiste Daddy Owen has once again spoken about his failed marriage to Farida Wambui.
The couple got married on April 2, 2016, but four years later, things went south.
Owen and Wambui were blessed with one child, and their marriage seemed perfect until December 2020, when she dumped him for a Gilgil tycoon.
Speaking on Churchill Show journey series, Daddy Owen, who still wears his wedding ring despite having divorced his ex-wife, said:
“I decided to stay with it because as a man, I never shy off from challenges or issues. I’m like a bull, I’ll face it head-on. The truth is like a lion ikitoka imetoka najua sahii kama ni kupigana kwa jungle nitapigana ( (once its out is out and ready to fight in the jungle).”
He added that he had to accept what happened, though, at that time, he was depressed. Owen said that his case was an example of the challenges people face and what matters is how you face it, deal with it and walk out of it.
“Before this story happened, I went into depression. I was in depression for a very long time and it was really tough. You going through depression and you’re a celebrity is really hard because when you come out, guys will ask, what happened…you’re a celebrity and everyone looked at you like you live in this perfect world with this perfect person…,” Owen said.
The Vanity hitmaker said explaining what was happening was his biggest challenge.
“Being a man, you always feel like I’ll figure out whatever I’m going through, and I’ll come out of the other side of the tunnel no matter what’s happening, but the problem was the tunnel was getting darker and darker. So the time everything happened, I was like, ‘Owen, wake up. You’ve been through a lot, and it’s time for you to wake up, and if you’re not careful, we’re going to lose you’”, he narrated.
The multitalented artiste said his tough upbringing helps him deal with different situations.
