Kidi finally speaks after losing VGMA21 Artiste of the Year Award to Diana Hamilton

Highlife musician, KiDi real name Dennis Nana Dwamena, who lost the overall victory for the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Award night has broken silence.

The 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards climaxed on Saturday, June 26, at the Accra International Conference Center.

The special night for musicians and industry people saw many artistes winning various awards in different categories.

One of the standout musicians who won about four awards is KiDi. He was nominated for eight awards but managed to sweep away the four, including ‘Afrobeats/Afropop Artist of the Year’.

But his biggest disappointment was losing out on the overall Artiste of the Year award to gospel musician Diana Hamilton.

On the night of the event, as Diana Hamilton and her team jubilated their way to the podium, a charged and inconsolable KiDi marched out of the auditorium.

But hours after reality dawned on him, he threw in the towel and congratulated his contender via a tweet.

Taking humour from his pain, the Highlife artiste reiterated that he will surely be back, despite being faced with a little traffic in the form of Diana Hamilton.

Kidi took home the EP of the Year, Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year, Afrobeats/Afropop Song of the Year, and Highlife Song of the Year awards.
