The President of the Ghana Catholic Bishop Convention, Most Reverend Philip Naameh has pleaded with Ghanaians to make it a behavior of respecting the rights and selections of Lesbian, Homosexual, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Life (LGBTQI+) folks within the society as they’re human beings that equally want safety like everybody else, MyNewsGh.com experiences.

Talking in an unique interview on Kumasi-based Abusua FM with senior media practitioner, Kojo Marfo monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Bishop Naameh defined that though the Catholic Bishop Convention frowns on the sexual orientation selections of LGBTQI+ individuals in Ghana, that nevertheless shouldn’t be the premise that individuals engaged in such actions needs to be denied primary rights like lodging and job alternatives.

“Lesbians and gays are people so we have to respect them. We have to accord them these rights that each one human beings take pleasure in. They shouldn’t be denied employment simply because they’re homosexuals… They shouldn’t be denied lodging…” he mentioned.

When requested by the host, Kojo Marfo additional to make clear his place since an earlier communique from his workplace requested of President Akufo-Addo to brazenly condemn the actions of LGBTQI in Ghana, Bishop Naameh said that

“The idea for refusing them employment shouldn’t be as a result of they’re homosexuals. Somebody could have an orientation to be homosexual and one other an orientation to be a lesbian but when he’s not appearing out this orientation, initially, he’s a human being and has the best to lodging, to work and to communion with different folks and people are rights we should always respect.

“We simply don’t say that as a result of he has gay tendencies, whereas all human beings have a proper to one thing, he needs to be denied it.”

The Ghana Catholic Bishop’s Convention (GCBC) earlier in a press assertion demanded of the federal government to close down the lately commissioned workplace of LGBTQI within the nation.
