Two Ghanaian Players Have Been Arrested For Smuggling Drugs In Bangladesh

Ghanaian footballers Twum Frank Ntini, 27 and Richard Dzifa Appiae, 28 who play in different football leagues in Bangladesh have been arrested with 7,500 Yaba tablets.

Yaba tablets are a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine sold as cheap red or pink pills in Bangladesh.

Thousands of the youth in Bangladesh are reportedly hooked on this substance and they are essentially used as a party drug.

The duo were arrested when they got down from a bus around 2am on January 4, 2020 in the Bangladesh city of Dhaka.

Following their suspicious movement, police challenged them and recovered the Yaba pills from their possession after a search, he said, adding that law enforcers later detained them.

During interrogation, the duo revealed that they were smuggling the drugs for one Mohammad Masud in the capital, the OC said.

Back in Ghana, Tema Youth SC has denied that the duo are former players of the club.
